A lot happens on this week's New Girl, but even a rousing game of True American, new neighbors, and an apartment fire can't compete with the biggest news of all: Nick and Jess break up. They wake up hungover, and soon, a routine toy assembly triggers a fight about what they want for the future and reality sets in about how different they really are. They almost break up a couple times within the episode before pulling the trigger, and when they finally do, it's a pretty sad moment. They part ways by Jess's room, but she pulls Nick back into her arms for a final hug in the very same hallway where he pulled her in for that surprise kiss last season.
It's been an interesting ride for the roommates/couple since they starting dating, but things haven't really been the same since Nick and Jess got together. I'm curious to hear if you agree and if you think this huge development is good or bad for the comedy. Can they still live together? And where will Schmidt live? So many questions.
