Music Video: Watch She & Him in Black & White in "Thieves"

She & Him has always had a retro sound, but their latest music video for "Thieves" looks like it was plucked from a bygone era, too. The footage is shot almost silent film-style with the chintzy special effects to match. It's a cute concept, though the dark tones seem more suited to someone like The Dead Weather. Do you agree? I like the video. Just saw She & Him last week, and Zooey's voice was fabulous live. I was expecting a sweet, fun show, but I was actually blown away by just how good she was.

Hmmmm...I like it but at the same time I can't imagine listening to a whole CD with that high pitched voice. I listened to it without watching the video and found that the song alone is just not that enjoyable. I had country music flashbacks from my childhood. Tammy Whynette.... How many songs do you think that the video helped make the song fabulous? I can think of many songs that I cannot listen to without immediately reliving the video in my mind. I cannot disconnect the two. I often wonder how much the video "makes" a song a hit.
