Music Video: Robyn, "Cobrastyle"

Robyn never fails to deliver bizarre, colorful and uber-fun videos, and this one for "Cobrastyle" does not break her pattern. For one thing, "Cobrastyle" is a super catchy tune that gets me bopping around in my chair. Add Robyn and her band wearing all white and having paint tossed at them (they don't even miss a beat — literally), Robyn dancing frenetically (sometimes "on" us) and Robyn spitting what (hopefully just) looks like paint at the camera in slow motion and we've got a winner. Caterpillar - I'm more than fine with her staying on the other side of the 'pond'. It's cool if some people like her. I just don't. At all. I also never implied that America should dictate what's popular. However, I dont necessarily think that being a star just in Europe means that the US population doesn't 'get you'. Look at the Spice Girls, for instance. America ate them up. SG weren't from the States. I guess I might be biased based on the fact that I've worked in the radio industry, so I tend to know how it all rolls.As far as Kylie Minogue being a similar example - I guess it doesnt apply to me. I like Kylie's music - and she is big out that way. So, the comparison is not applicable.Bottom line - everyone is entitled to their opinion. Mine just happens to be that I don't like Robyn :)

Her album is actually really really good- she doesnt do the high pitch thing the whole time. Cali- I think you would like it!

I don't like her cover of this song, the Teddybears did it better. I don't know why people like her, her voice grates on me :? it seems too high-pitched or something. The only song of hers I liked was "Show Me Love."

I really love the video. The song, not so much. Anyway, it's a dream of mine to throw paint around a room or on people without getting in trouble.

i always have to love hearing about how there are some artists that we barely know about here that have been incredibly successful overseas and vice versa. i think that it's just goes to show that there are really varying tastes. but for me, i like this - it's different than what i've heard lately, and i agree - it might have to go onto one of my workout playlists.

City, Im sorry but america doesnt hold the patent to what is popular. Robyn is huge in scandinavia, Europe. she had two top ten hits here, but decidely isnt promoting her albums stateside anymore because this market is so fickle. she values her artistic credibility above being "popular" in the US. I dont blame her.
