Music Video: Rilo Kiley, "Silver Lining"

Well, as if I weren't already pumped to see Rilo Kiley live tonight, this music video for "Silver Lining" — easily my most-played song off the group's new album, Under the Blacklight — just made me even more excited for the show.

In the video, the ever-adorable Jenny Lewis plays a blushing bride in white who ends up leaving her groom-to-be at the altar during the song's climactic moments. Better yet, the ditched groom is Rilo Kiley guitarist Blake Sennett, who was Lewis' real-life flame more than a decade ago. Who knew jilted love could be so darn cute? To watch the video, read more

Jenny and Johnathan are definitely dating (as per 9/07 Spin mag). When Ben Gibbard was on tour with David Bazan (of Pedro the Lion fame) JR opened for them both. Jenny was there and did a guest spot with Ben, and the four of them sang together near the end of the show at the Fillmore.

I agree Buzz, the setlist was great! Lots of classic RK songs mixed in with the new stuff, Blake sang "Ripchord" which I love, and they even did "Rise up with Fists." And there was such a good energy going on in there- from RK and from the crowd. Good times. :)

Wow, Cadet, I didn't know they were dating, either. Thanks! Mallomar -- I'm going to post more of my thoughts on the show on Monday, but I have to say, I don't think they could have possibly played a better setlist for my tastes. Like, it was like they looked at my top most played RK songs and said, "OK, we'll play those." I'm glad you enjoyed it too!

They rocked at the Warfield last night! So happy they played a bunch of old stuff too. "Paint's Peeling", "Portion's for Foxes" = yay! Jonathan Rice rocked as well.Is that true Cadet- he's dating Jenny?

Side note: Jenny Lewis's boyfriend, Johnathan Rice's, CD drops this coming Tuesday. It was being streamed on his MySpace profile sometime last week and it sounds really good! Definitely a must hear! Especially his song featuring Jenny, End of the Affair.

I found this video on their MySpace profile a couple days ago and have been watching it on YouTube like a fiend! I'm so jealous that you get to go to the show tonight! Had I money (I know, it's only $26 for GE, but as a poor college student, that's food for an entire week!) I would totally have gone myself! Le Sigh, Buzz you are too cool.
