I've made no secret about the fact that I find the music of Norah Jones painfully dull. If you agree (or even if you don't), you should check out Amy Winehouse, who is like Norah's sultrier and more captivating British counterpart. There's a great long piece in today's Washington Post on Amy Winehouse. Actually, googling her took me to this site. I've already posted a comment about your comparison of Winehouse to Norah Jones. I think Jones will grow on you as you get older, but do check out the Little Willies -- much better than her solo stuff. As for Winehouse's looks. She's obviously a deeply troubled young gal -- she seems to prefer drinking to eating. And, don't get my started on those tattoos, or her makeup. The Post has a picture of her circa 2004. To call her beautiful and sexy would be the understatement of all-time. I don't think any gal ever looked more beautiful or alluring. I'm guessing that's part of the problem. She was on the verge of becoming a huge star, and she had those incredible looks. And, she was wracked by insecurities. So, she's responded by trying to make herself far less attractive. Not that this is happening at a conscious level, but she is deliberately (unconsciously)wrecking her once flawless body. There are a lot of reasons why this kind of behavior can occur, and I don't want to speculate about the root causes -- but I hope she can pull out of it. For my part, I apologize for raising the intellectual bar here -- I hope everyone's OK with that....

I like the song, but I can't handle watching her in the video. Her lip synching is off to me, and she's so weirdly skinny, which I guess I maybe know from paparazzi pictures more than this. But still, weirdly skinny.
