Only God Forgives Trailer: Ryan Gosling Gets Really Violent

Those who enjoyed 2011's Drive may enjoy the red band trailer for Only God Forgives, the next collaboration from director Nicolas Winding Refn and star Ryan Gosling.

Those who enjoyed 2011's Drive may enjoy the red band trailer for Only God Forgives, the next collaboration from director Nicolas Winding Refn and star Ryan Gosling. The heartthrob plays Julien, a former kickboxer living in Bangkok. When his brother is murdered by a police lieutenant, Julien attempts vengeance on his family's behalf. If the trailer is any indication, then Julien is a man of few words, as the only thing he says is, "Wanna fight?" Words may be scarce — except for a few disturbing ones from Julien's mother, played by Kristin Scott Thomas — but the violence is cringe-worthy.

Drive has a unique combination of fantastic art direction and some brutal violence, and it looks like Only God Forgives could be headed in the same direction. That said, I'm a little worried that the latter will be even more gory than Drive, which is saying a lot. The film hits theaters May 23, but you can watch the trailer after the jump.

Grown Ups 2 Trailer: Taylor Lautner Makes Adam Sandler Streak

In Grown Ups, Adam Sandler and a group of his real-life friends (including David Spade, Chris Rock, and Kevin James), play a bunch of high school buds who reunite for a weekend, so you can probably guess what happens in the sequel — they're reuniting again! This time they've all gathered in their hometown, where apparently it's easy for a moose to just waltz into your bedroom and pee on you. Other things that happen in town? Frat guys (led by Taylor Lautner) can make you cliff dive naked.

The original Grown Ups wasn't exactly comedy genius, so suffice it to say this sequel feels pretty unnecessary. That said, I fully support Lautner trying his hand at comedy, and it's hard not to giggle when half the cast of SNL shows up dressed as male cheerleaders led by Andy Samberg. The film hits theaters July 12, and you can watch the trailer when you read more

This Is the End Trailer: James Franco Is Having a Party, and All of Hollywood Is Invited

We've already gotten a tease of This Is the End, better known as the apocalyptic comedy starring just about every famous funny person, but the new red-band trailer provides a lot more footage, stars, and laughs.

We've already gotten a tease of This Is the End, better known as the apocalyptic comedy starring just about every famous funny person, but the new red-band trailer provides a lot more footage, stars, and laughs. We've got Mindy Kaling setting her sights on Michael Cera, Rihanna getting hit on by Michael Cera, and Michael Cera getting impaled during said apocalypse. OK, maybe Michael Cera is the star of this particular trailer.

But wait! There's also Emma Watson hilariously wielding an axe, and a pretty entertaining fight between the film's real stars (Jonah Hill, James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson) about who gets to eat a Milky Way bar. It's all very silly, but I'm now officially excited for this movie, which opens on June 14. The trailer is NSFW, but check it out after the read more

Before Summer blockbuster season kicks into high gear, April is here with a bunch of hot new releases. Tom Cruise goes postapocalyptic in Oblivion, while Ben Affleck and Rachel McAdams star in Terrence Malick's dreamy film To the Wonder. That's just the tip of the iceberg, though, so watch all the trailers for the movies hitting theaters in the next few weeks.

Logan Lerman Returns in the Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters Trailer

No longer a wallflower, Logan Lerman returns as the half-blood son of Poseidon for the Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters trailer.

No longer a wallflower, Logan Lerman returns as the half-blood son of Poseidon for the Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters trailer. In the follow-up to 2010's Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Percy and his pals (Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson) find themselves in search of a Golden Fleece that can save their half-blood haven. The problem is that this particular magical blanket is hidden in the sea of monsters, which houses — you guessed it — terrifying Odyssey-type monsters.

Following his turn in last year's The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Lerman has swiftly become one of my favorite young actors, and I'm on board to see him slay some monsters. Plus, the adaptation of Rick Riordan's book (one of the many YA novels to read before they hit theaters) is in 3D, which means that dizzying cyclone monster is going to be legitimately scary. The movie is set for an Aug. 16 release date; until then, you can watch the trailer after the jump.

2 Guns Trailer: Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington Team Up

We've seen Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington play badasses on the big screen plenty of times before, but seeing them together takes things to a new level.

We've seen Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington play badasses on the big screen plenty of times before, but seeing them together takes things to a new level. In the trailer for 2 Guns, Wahlberg and Washington play Marcus and Bobby, a pair of criminals who rob a bank together. It's a little remniscent of The Town (I blame the creepy masks) until — twist! — Marcus reveals himself as an undercover Naval Officer. But wait — double twist! — Bobby is undercover, too, except he's a DEA agent. Turns out they were set up, and now they have to work together to take down the real bad guys, who are led by a very creepy-looking Bill Paxton.

2 Guns could be easily passed off as another run-of-the-mill action movie, except that Wahlberg and Washington are so perfect together. The trailer has a few laugh-out-loud moments thanks to the banter between their two characters, which is enough reason to make me want to check it out. The film hits theaters Aug. 2, and you can watch the trailer when you read more

Before Midnight Trailer: Celine and Jesse Forever

For fans of Richard Linklater's two romantic dramas Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, the opening moments of the Before Midnight trailer are so exciting: Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) are together!

For fans of Richard Linklater's two romantic dramas Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, the opening moments of the Before Midnight trailer are so exciting: Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) are together! And they have two adorable daughters! However, the happy ending we always wanted for them looks to be more rooted in reality and more attune to the fact that relationships still take work once two people who belong together find each other. They argue, insult each other a little, but also appear to still really love each other.

Nine years after the last installment, I'm still getting goose bumps watching these two characters interact — there's love there, for sure, but also so much witty dialogue and emotional intelligence between them. The trailer hits a lighter tone than I'd expect for the third film in this series, and I'm betting some of the sillier moments are more dramatic in context. After its Sundance Film Festival debut earlier this year, Before Midnight comes out in limited release May 24, and you can watch the trailer now after the jump.

Arthur Newman Trailer: Colin Firth and Emily Blunt Create New Identities

Ever wish you could just leave your old life behind and become someone else?

Ever wish you could just leave your old life behind and become someone else? That's exactly what Colin Firth and Emily Blunt decide to do in Arthur Newman. Wallace (Firth), tired of living his own life, fakes his death and assumes a brand-new identity: Arthur Newman, pro golfer. While enjoying his new life, he meets Mike (Blunt), a mysterious woman who is also running from her past. The two hit it off and commence breaking into strangers' houses and trying on their clothes. It's like a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde, with less bank robbery and more giggling and wedding dresses.

It's a little hard to tell from the trailer what genre this film falls into. Is it a golf movie? A drama? A romantic comedy? I'm not sure my curiosity is piqued enough about it, but I'm interested to find out what you think. Arthur Newman premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and opens in limited release on April 26. Until then, you can watch the trailer after the jump.

The Wolverine Trailer: Has Hugh Jackman Been Declawed?

In the trailer for The Wolverine, we're reunited with Hugh Jackman's X-Men persona, Wolverine/Logan, and this time we're seeing him at what appears to be his weakest.

In the trailer for The Wolverine, we're reunited with Hugh Jackman's X-Men persona, Wolverine/Logan, and this time we're seeing him at what appears to be his weakest. Taking place after the events in X-Men: The Last Stand, this movie finds Wolverine sought out by a man in Japan he once saved decades earlier from an atomic bomb. Out of gratitude, the much-older man wants to give Wolverine a very special gift to end the pain he's endured for years: mortality. Turns out, mortality isn't quite what it's cut out to be when you're used to magically healing (bullets and Samurai swords hurt and stuff!).

Since this is Jackman's fifth outing as the character (sixth, if you count his cameo in 2011's X-Men: First Class), I was hoping to see a fresh angle on the superhero's story or on the character itself. Unfortunately, I don't see too much that's new here, aside from the setting and the lack of other X-Men. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong when the movie comes out July 26, and you can decide for yourself by watching the trailer after the jump.

White House Down Trailer: Channing Tatum Will Be Your Hero, America

Judging by the recent release Olympus Has Fallen and this new trailer for White House Down, I don't know why you'd ever want to visit the president's home.

Judging by the recent release Olympus Has Fallen and this new trailer for White House Down, I don't know why you'd ever want to visit the president's home. At least in White House Down, you have Channing Tatum, who is geared up to make you feel all safe and protected. Tatum plays John Cale, a police officer who's taking a tour of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with his daughter when the building suddenly gets attacked. Coincidentally, he's also up for a job as a Secret Service agent, and it looks like he gets a prime opportunity to prove his skill in protecting the president (Jamie Foxx).

You don't get to see much in the trailer aside from explosions, and Tatum only really speaks to instruct the president to "go, go, go!" but it looks like your standard Summer action flick . . . and a lot like Olympus Has Fallen. And yet director Roland Emmerich is a guy who knows how to attack the White House (see: Independence Day), and Tatum is here doing his best John McClane impression and looking great as usual, so there's that. White House Down comes out June 28, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.
