Movie Preview: Venus
On December 20th, Venus opens, starring the ever-great Peter O'Toole. It looks to be a heartwarming tale of friendship prevailing over a wide generation gap, and it's already getting attention from award committees. The concept of a relationship blooming between an older man and a young woman can easily go in a pretty creepy direction, but from this trailer, the relationship instead seems tender, funny and sweet. The movie will probably make me cry, in a good way, and maybe teach me a few things about art at the same time.
