Stuff that we probably could have predicted about the trailer for Michael Mann's gangster movie, Public Enemies: This film will be intense, Johnny Depp is an awesome actor, and this cast overall is absolutely gorgeous (Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard? Yes, please). Michael Mann has proven that he works quite well with crime/action movies and Public Enemies is, of course, all crime and a lot of action. The trailer alone got my blood pumping.
As the story description goes, "the Feds try to take down notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s." Depp plays Dillinger, Channing Tatum is Pretty Boy Floyd and Stephen Graham plays Baby Face Nelson. Bale plays top FBI agent Melvin Purvis while Cotillard is Dillinger's lady, Billie Frechette.
Public Enemies opens July 1. Though the story is dark, something about this trailer just makes me grin. You can check it out and tell me what you think if you read more.

5I got my degree from the University of Wisconsin and parts of this movie were filmed in Oshkosh, WI. I have a friend who lives there while taking care of her mom and she waited outside the set to get photos of him. She said Johnny was really gracious and signed lots of autographs and talked to his fans. She emailed me photos of him - if I can find where I saved them (or can find the original email!) I will post them for you all!

9Oh looks exciting, a must see definetely.This summer is bound to be good cinema wise for Christian Bale fans! However this trailer shows too little of Mr Bale for my taste. Anyway great to see Johnny Depp in this kind of role.

15So much of this was shot downtown here--I'd come to work and see trailers all the time. And everything I heard about the cast was positive (yes, including Bale!).
16i can't believe that i have to wait until july to see JD - but i guess his hotness is TOTALLY worth the wait.
17The part when he's waving to people on the street from the car, that's filmed in my neighborhood. that's on 18th st! the movie looks so awesome!

21a couple scenes from the movie were shot in my apt building and on the street in front of the building (i live in chicago)! i hung out with some of the extras and stephen nelson. i'm interested to see if any of the scenes make the final cut. johnny wasn't in these scenes, but christian was - he seemed extremely serious and not friendly like johnny is known to be.
22Um, yeah, I saw the trailer before 'Watchmen'. I couldn't concentrate on the movie because all I could think about was how hot Johnny looks! YUM-O! Not to mention, the trailer makes the movie look like the ticket of the summer. I can't wait! BTW, don't waste your money on 'Watchmen'.

24i dont know if its the music that played in the trailer but this movie looks like its going to fun from start to finish. BTW Johnny Depp looks AMAZING, but when does he not? WOW is all i can say. and yay for part of it being filmed in chicago, im glad chi-town is getting the love it deserves in movies!!!
25This movie makes me excited. They filmed a few scenes right outside where I work (across from the capitol building in Madison, WI)so I am excited to see how much of that made the film!
