The tag line for Robert Redford's political drama Lions for Lambs is "If you don't stand for something, you might fall for anything." Yet aside from that and the fact that Tom Cruise is making his first onscreen appearance since Mission Impossible III, what do you know about this upcoming movie?
The stories of three disparate Americans — one professor (Redford), one journalist (Meryl Streep) and one presidential hopeful (Cruise) — intertwine over the prickly subject of the war on terror. Meanwhile, two of the professor's students go off to Afghanistan in an attempt to do something important with their lives, and the professor is left with mixed feelings about their decision.
As with most movies dealing with current political issues, Lions for Lambs does not look like a particularly comfortable film to watch, though it may be very well-done. The movie opens this Friday November 9, so to watch the trailer and tell me what you think, read more

This is one movie that I have absolutely no want to go see in the theaters or on video, I dont even know if I will watch it on HBO. I just do not agree with political movies such as this although I believe everyone has a right to free speech, I have a right to take my money and go see another movie. I just hate when politics and hollywood come together and so i choose not to even think about seeing this one.
1This movie looks bad!
2I'm actually looking forward to seeing this, though I'm going to have to put my negative feelings about Tom Cruise aside. The issues are important; hopefully the movie will lead to further discussion about them.
3I think this movie will be amazing, I actually got chills watching the entire trailer. I truly believe that movies are to us what books were to the 17th century, and I love seeing films like these that back me up on that belief. Also I don't understand the sudden dislike of Cruise, but whatever, lol. He was always a Scientologist, the only thing that's changed is that he married Katie Holmes and had a baby.
4This looks very good. I agree Eaving, why does everybody suddenly hate him the last two years or so? He jumps on a couch proclaiming his love, and suddenly the mass hatred. It's so unwarranted.
5I've hated Tom long before the couch episode, but I looove Meryl. But from the previews, it looks like a mess, so I think I'm skipping this movie.
6I haven't seen a Tom Cruise movie in years...long before the couch jump. He just plays the same character every time and from the clip it looks like he is playing the same guy again. I'm always up for a good movie regardless of the subject matter and I love Robert Redford and Meryl Streep but Cruise's acting bugs me so much that I won't go see the movie.
