Emily Blunt playing a young Queen Victoria in a sumptuous period drama? Yes, please! The trailer for The Young Victoria is slow to build but visually beautiful and features the ever-capable Emily Blunt in the title role. The movie is a "dramatization of the turbulent first years of Queen Victoria's rule, and her enduring romance with Prince Albert." Rupert Friend plays Albert and the sweetness of his relationship with Victoria here looks so refreshing.

Eh, I'm interested. I could barely make it through the preview, but I'm interested. The English are always stuffy and boring, but this could be a companion piece to Coppola's Marie Antoinette.

Yeah Victoria was madly, passionately in love with Albert, so much so that she built him Royal Albert Hall, and the Monument across Kensington High St. in the park. She was devastated when he died prematurely! So this should be a good movie :-)

I'm not sure if I've seen Emily Blunt before, but this movie looks quite entertaining. Lets hope its not a terrible flop, like other movies that seem to portray a royal time period. It looks very interesting.
