Until that oft-discussed Arrested Development movie starts to move forward for real, there is at least another fun AD-related movie in the works. A couple of self-proclaimed "Arrested Development superfans" came up with the idea to put together an "Arrested Development Documentary Project" (working title) as a way "to take our passion for the show and couple it with the countrywide fan base to educate others and make them aware of this TV gem." Here's more:
The overall goal of the documentary is to provide awareness and education of this brilliant, witty and original comedy. We are looking to interview viewers, cast, crew and any other industry figures that are fans or critics of the show.
At first I assumed this was just a cute little fan project that might not look all that professional, but after watching a video from it (which I've posted after the jump), I find that I'm completely wrong. This is one movie that will be required watching for anyone who considers himself/herself an AD fan. I can't wait to see it! You can check out the video if you read more.
Many more videos from the project are available here.

I can't wait to see this!
1I really hate that such smart, hilarious, great shows like this just run by and get canceled while all the stupid reality shows go on season after season. I' don't want to be rude, but it really shows the lack of intelligence of our country and how so many people cannot appreciate or not even understand smar humour...
2Yes, I need to watch this!
3There’s no way I’m missing this. AD attracts similarly smart fans it seems.
4Still can’t believe it got cancelled. As Lizlee says, it doesn’t reflect very well on our society when we can’t appreciate brilliance of this caliber when its right in front of us.
I agree that people just don't seem to want to be bothered with smart television, but in AD's case, Fox was clearly not helping the show do any better. They even changed the time and day they aired it with barely a mention of the change. I remember reading comments online that people didn't even know it was still on. Fox seems to have the tendency to pick up good shows and then not promote them.
5I LOVE that show, I'll have to watch this. I've seen the DVDs literally dozens of times over the last two-three years, and I still can't seem to get enough. I think I even like it even more with each I watch it.
6I feel like the wire gets treated this way also.
