We waited in anticipation for the Gossip Girl threesome episode, laughed at Matt Damon's crazy alter ego on Entourage, and rewound Teresa's The Real Housewives of New Jersey freak-out on our DVRs. 2009 was a great year in TV — but not for every show. Some of my favorite series are in need of a makeover, whether it's for an individual, plotline, or well, everything. But since it's the holidays and the spirit of generosity abounds, I'm going to proclaim what I have on my television wish list for 2010, and hope some TV exec out there has the Santa spirit within and grants them. We all love mentioning serious-minded shows like Mad Men as series we watch, but it's not only about substantial TV viewing. What about those dirty little secrets lurking on our DVRs? Guilty pleasure TV shows are sometimes more entertaining than those you're proud to say you enjoy, and 2009 was a great year for them. What was your favorite?

90210 and Melrose Place are about to go on their Winter hiatuses, so you know what that means — even more climactic drama in both episodes. The high school kids definitely made me raise my eyebrows a few times, but it's hard for them to compete with their older counterparts this week, who delivered the soap opera trifecta: sex, drugs, and murder.

Laura Leighton appears as the recently departed Sydney Andrews in the 12th episode of Melrose Place, but only as a memory. By definition, the following shows may not be considered totally geeky per se, but in our books they offered enough gadget goods and tech talk over the past year to include them in our regular TV Tech Quiz feature. I was really excited about this week's double-header of 90210 and Melrose Place. Perhaps it was absence making my heart grow fonder after last week's hiatus, or maybe just the anticipation of watching as Jen gets her due justice. (She does. Hooray!) Whatever the case, both shows packed in a few surprises to pique my interest. For instance, a new cuckoo ex-boyfriend/brother character.

In the 11th episode of the season, Riley Richmond (Jessica Lucas) stands out in a bright red Grecian-inspired dress.
