Meet the Characters of "Gossip Girl"

Those of you who are fans of the book series on which this fall's "Gossip Girl" is based already have a good sense of who's who on the show, which premieres Sept. 19. But to help out the rest of us, the CW has put together a series of short videos introducing us to the show's six main Upper East Side teens. I LOVE the books! I religoisly read all of the books. Still remember the first! Serena's character is the only one that was casted pretty good. Sorry! But that's just my opinion. I really can't wait for the series!! Sounds like a bit of "Beautiful People" is in there! ;D

ill admit it....i still read these books each time when they come out. although, as many of you all have described, jenny is not exactly right on, her attitude seems to match nicely. in her spin off books--the it girl--jenny's look is far less focused on. if anyone were to try and picture what she might look like from her descriptions i would say this is it...even though it is "way off" from the books. cant wait:)

Hmm...I think that the only one casted well is Serena. I imagined Blair to be well, hotter, not so cute-sy looking (although she is really pretty). And Jenny is totally off, she's supposed to be curly brown hair, brown eyes, be short, and have a chest that's not proportional to her body! The guys were pretty spot on, but I kind of expected Nate to be hotter.

I have read every book in the Gossip Girl series. For the most part the characters are how I'd imagine them. Jenny and Chuck, who are more minor characters in the scheme of things are the most different from what I'd thought. Jenny is not as pretty, bigger chested, and different hair. Chuck is less of a "bad guy" then they make him seem, he is more of a quirky and weird girl crazy character. Also, the show is not about 9th graders.

ahh i loved these books. and jenny doesn't look at all like how she is described, but everything else seems good. although i pictured nate hotter.

I cannot watch the video at work. Stupid blockers. But I have seen it clips on the CW's website and I cannot wait. Also, the actors play pretty true to again. Unlike The OC. No college graduates playing high school kids. So it is wrong of me to think they some of the guys are hot.

All of the actresses are actually under 20 — the girl who plays Jenny is only 14! Blake, who plays Serena, looks really old for her age, though. I'm not sure about the guys' ages.

^ actually, they're seniors in high school. so around 17/18-age wise, with the exception of jenny.

I always think that the actors who are playing the teenagers look too old on shows like this. This one is no exception. All of the girls look like college students.

i've read most of the books and in them jenny is supposed to have thick curly brown hair, huge brown eyes, be on the short side and have a very large chest for her age and overall body size

Hmmmm they're mostly all spot on. I think I'll only be watching for the very very attractive boys.

Jenny looks too good. I picture her as a tad homely, very spastic and overly eager. The rest to me look spot on. Blair and Serena look gorgeous in these promos. I love Blair's dress in the picture.
