Maya Rudolph "Basically" Music Video From Up All Night
Watch Maya Rudolph's Up All Night Character in Her '90s Music Video For "Basically"
by Shannon Vestal 1
In the grand tradition of How I Met Your Mother's Robin Sparkles, NBC's new comedy Up All Night has its own character with a pop star past. Maya Rudolph's Ava is now a successful talk show host, but back in the day (the mid-'90s, that is), she starred in an R&B slow jam video with her old boyfriend, "B-Ro." The ex is someone you'll recognize if you're a Saturday Night Live fan: it's The Lonely Island's Jorma Tacconne, and their song "Basically" could totally be an SNL digital short. Watch Ava and B-Ro in their hilarious video, complete with era-appropriate getups.
