With New York Fashion Week underway, we're taking a look at the most memorable films that revolve around the fashion industry. While some offer a biographical angle or a behind-the-scenes spin, others take a more comic look at the fashion world. In honor of this week's fashion festivities, check out the colorful characters (real and fictional) and, of course, the great clothes!

Does anything scream "single and ready to mingle!" more than Teenar, the Girl Guitar? It looks as though Sideshow Bob pictured above (otherwise known as Lou Reimuller) combined two of his favorite fetishes to invent Teenar. He took a vintage department store mannequin (that he "happened" to have on hand) and converted her into a fully-powered electric guitar. Why play tunes for a lady, when one can just play a lady? Classy.
In the 1987 movie Mannequin, Meshach Taylor plays the part of Hollywood Montrose. Name the TV show on which he later had a main role.
Visual Merchandising
Use of mannequins, torsos, props, cases, and walls to display merchandise in store or in outer windows of store. One of the more famous window dressers today is Simon Doonan of Barneys New York. It is said that Doonan changed our concept of window shopping in the early '80s via his decadent displays.

Mannequin
Model of the human body used to display fashion apparel and accessories. The word comes from the Dutch word manneken, literally meaning "little man." Mannequin is the French form.
Speaking of mannequins, if you haven't yet seen the movie Mannequin with Kim Cattrall then put it on your netflix queue.
We've seen some creative campaigns aimed at getting people to wash their hands after each bathroom visit. But this takes the prize for the most persuasive. The only way to dry your hands in this bathroom is to give the towel-dressed mannequins a feel or two. Or more.
