Mamie Gummer has a bit of weight on her shoulders as the title character in The CW's new series Emily Owens, M.D., but it's a challenge that she's ready for. When I recently sat down with the actress (who is Meryl Streep's daughter), she discussed how playing a doctor on Off the Map helped prepare for this role, even if she's not exactly a medical expert in real life.
