Make Your Own Arcade Fire Music Video
Maybe Radiohead set my standards too high by announcing a new album online last week, because when I first heard that the Arcade Fire's own, much-ballyhooed Web project was just a music video, I was a little disappointed.
That's until I actually headed over to BeonlineB.com and started to — as the full URL commands — click around. The site is actually a fully interactive music video for the song "Neon Bible." The only constants are the song itself, singer Win Butler's head and a pair of disembodied hands. By clicking various places on the screen, you can direct the hands to toss an apple back and forth, spin a Neon Bible logo, flip over a series of cards (get four of a kind and an invisible crowd cheers for you) and even drown Win.
It's fun to play with once or twice, and I keep discovering new, fun effects. Plus, Win Butler's floating head is the most appropriately creepy image I can think of for the song. Go play around, and be sure to let me know what you think of the video.
