Award Season Déjà Vu: The Weird Moments That Kept Happening

The Oscars are over, and as we bask in the glow of the winners, we're also reflecting on award season as a whole. Weirdly, we noticed a whole bunch of similar moments that kept happening, whether it was a saying from one nominee, an actress being silly, or winners repeating things in their award speeches. We had award season déjà vu, so we're pointing out all those moments here! Source: Getty / Kevin Winter

Emma Thompson's Show-Stealing Antics

You know who has been killing it this award season? Emma Thompson. She first cracked us up presenting at the Golden Globes, where she tossed off her shoes and tossed back a martini.

Look at how much fun she was having!

Even Bryan Cranston was a fan, talking her up in his SAG acceptance speech. Thompson was loving it, and so were we.

The Tom Hanks Jokes

The Tom Hanks Jokes

Now, everybody loves Tom Hanks, but this award season, everyone loved joking about Tom Hanks, like when Amy Poehler deliberately mispronounced his name at the Golden Globes.

Or when David O. Russell repeatedly thanked him at the Critics' Choice Awards. We don't get it either, Tom!

Jennifer Lawrence's Many Candid Moments

Just like last year, Jennifer Lawrence charmed us this award season by being herself, like when she snuck up on Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes.

At the SAGs, she couldn't open an envelope under pressure, like a normal person.

Of course, she had her moment at the Oscars, where she tripped on the red carpet before she even got into the show. Source: E!
