Love It or Leave It: The Haunting of Molly Hartley

'Tis the season for spooky movies, and this one (opening Oct. 31, natch) includes two recognizable faces for any fan of current CW teen shows: Chace Crawford (Nate on Gossip Girl) and AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi on 90210). In fact, the trailer for The Haunting of Molly Hartley itself takes place at a private school and generally smacks of CW teen angst. I love to see that on my TV each week, but I wonder if this scary movie will be equally satisfying. The story seems more intriguing as the trailer gets toward the end, in my opinion, but what do you think? Will you watch The Haunting of Molly Hartley someday when you feel like having a scare?

I like the premise, even though it isn't completely original. I'm interested to see what they do with it.

This movie looks ridiculous, like a bad CW show. It's irritating to have to watch this trailer before almost every movie I've seen in the theaters.

I love, love horror movies (especially the creepy ghosty ones)...but they need an element of surprise to be any good. This just looks far too cliche.

Sorry, but I can't watch this preview without thinking of Reaper. (speaking of, is that show coming back ever? I miss Sock!) You turn a certain age and the devil owns your soul? Ehh. I feel like this isn't very creative.

I know Halloween is on a Friday this year, but releasing a horror movie on that day is stupid! It would have been better released a week early while they still had at lest a week of festivities. I don't see this move having a shot in box office hell.

the beauty of working in a theater is that i can see all the movies i want... and if it ends up being horrible, i won't feel too bad b/c i didn't pay for it. ha.

i don't watch high school TV shows (i am pretending that there is not even a new 90210, i'm too faithful to the old one) so I'm not familiar with any of the actors. But I love Halloween and am all about getting into the spooky spirit, so I'll probably check out the movie

I am at a loss to explain my love of cheesy teen movies. There is nothing better on a Sunday than to curl up with plenty of snacks and a really bad teen movie (bonus if it's a SPOOKY teen flick)!

i'm always on the fence about movies like this one. i don't know if it's something that i would even bother to see - but sometimes i'm just sucked in some how and i can't explain why :) i think that it's nice to see that these CW stars are doing something else, now the question is are they successful at it?
