New Music: Taylor Swift Crashes a Wedding in "Speak Now"

Taylor Swift is still pining after someone else's guy. Her latest single, "Speak Now," is almost a follow-up of what would happen to the girl from "You Belong With Me" after the end of high school. I'll tell you what would happen: she'd break up his wedding! Vengeful perhaps, yet the song is admittedly catchy like most of Swift's hits. The album drops on Oct. 25, but give the title track a listen when you read more.

i'm totally in love with this girls music!! she has truly inspried me to become a stronger person! i"ve made many mistakes and the song back to december is beautiful< it reminded me of a breakup i had last year......and enchanted.....can you say wow! it gave me chills! also DCBaxter i'd liike to see you get on a stage in front of a million people and sing see how hard it is< im a good singer but when it comes to being in fornt of a crowd you get very nervous even when your used ot it....like just chill :) ha

umm, yes she has bills to pay just like the rest of us- she just bought her own apartment last year, fyi. And as for crashing a wedding, who's to say she hadn't thought about it? It not your job to critique her writing process, just enjoy the product of it. That being said, love the song! Can't wait for the album

@DCBaxter Taylor did in fact say in a recent interview that the song Speak Now is about one of her friends and not herself.

Jealous? She has millions of dollars, tons of talent and beautiful hair. And she's only 21. Of course I'm jealous! :) I agree - this is a very cute song and the lyrics are fun and catchy, as are all of her other songs - I never said her lyrics weren't eloquent or thought out. Comparing a bridesmaid dress to a pastry is pretty funny! My only point was that I wonder if she is telling the truth when she says she writes about all of her own experiences. That is one of her main messages about her music. But all that aside (because what does it really matter?), I can definitely enjoy her music for what it is.

@DCBaxter jealous much? calm down and just enjoy her music for what it is. and let's not forget she's young so clearly everything she says isn't going to be the most thought-out or eloquently said. and who cares whether or not these songs are "about her" versus "about her friends?" the fact remains is that she is INSPIRED to write and that's how we get such amazing songs out of her. give the girl a break. she's not perfect. in any case, this song is amazing. i'm in love.

This is a very cute song - and it will get a lot of airplay. I'm probably going to get slammed for saying this...I have been a big fan of Taylor Swift's for a long time. But after her performance on the VMAs, the veil was lifted. She was just too dramatic and it was silly. And her voice is just not that great live. Let's agree on that.The illusion of her perfection is also popped when she says things like this: Swift told FOX News of her new album, “I’ve written all the songson it about things that have happened over the last two years, and a lot has happened over the last two years. It’s been every eventful, a lot of adventures and misadventures," Swift said.So, did she actually crash a wedding? Or think about crashing one? And in "Mine," did she really live with someone and had bills to pay and struggle? Her songwriting is beyond her years, and it's amazing. I just find it hard to believe that someone with so little life experience is really writing about her OWN life, which she leads us all to believe. Maybe she is writing about the lives of her friends? Acceptable, but if so, she should say so.
