The Many(?) Facial Expressions of John Krasinski

John Krasinski's eye rolls, thin-mouthed smirks and baffled glances are some of the most consistently funny things about "The Office."

John Krasinski's eye rolls, thin-mouthed smirks and baffled glances are some of the most consistently funny things about "The Office." But how many faces can our favorite everyman actually make?

Well, according to Krasinski's License to Wed director, Ken Kwapis, there's a finite number of contortions: six. In a half-serious, half-jokey interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kwapis confined Krasinski's facial expressions to the single digits. And, what's more, the paper even put together a photo gallery of the half-dozen expressions they think are the most common, from "the grimace" to "the happy."

It's pretty funny to see all those faces one after the other, flipbook-style. But after spinning through the gallery, I think six is pretty conservative; at the very least, Krasinski's bugged-out eyes deserve their own spot on the list. Take a look and tell me what you think. What's your favorite John face?

Box Office: Transformers Pummel Their Way to No. 1

Unsurprisingly, Transformers took the No.

Unsurprisingly, Transformers took the No. 1 spot at the box office over the July 4th weekend. Having opened on Tuesday July 3, ticket sales easily broke Tuesday box office records and then went on to rope in summertime moviegoers the rest of the weekend, taking $152 million over the course of its 6 1/2-day opening, and approximately $67 million for just the weekend. The movie just barely beat out 2002's Spider-Man as the highest-grossing 7-day opening of any non-sequel.

In second place was Pixar's Ratatouille with $29 million and Live Free or Die Hard came up at No. 3 with $17.4 million. In fourth place with $10.4 for the weekend was License to Wed, and Evan Almighty took a respectable $8 million at No. 5.

Opening this Wednesday, of course, is the little wizard that could, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Surely Potter and friends can work some magic on these box office numbers.

License To Wed: Don’t Walk Down That Aisle

I would love to write wonderful things about License to Wed.

I would love to write wonderful things about License to Wed. I wish I had things to say about the comedic timing, the brilliant acting and the warm fuzzy feeling you get from just the right amount of cheesiness in the ending. These would be the makings of a great romantic comedy, which unfortunately, License to Wed just isn't.

From the moment the movie begins, the story is rushed. The first few minutes give us a montage showing how our leading characters meet each other, fall in love and are catapulted into the hellacious chain of events that is License to Wed. John Krasinski and Mandy Moore are Ben and Sadie, the adorably average couple who find themselves trying to gain a minister’s approval with their big day just 3 weeks away. In order to get their marriage license, Reverend Frank (the obnoxious and cringe-worthy Robin Williams) puts the couple through trials that are supposed to test their compatibility and their ability to act as responsible parents and spouses. These pose problems for the couple, of course so read more

The Cute Cast Of License to Wed Hits The Red Carpet

John and Mandy flashed big smiles on the red carpet for the big premiere of License to Wed.

John and Mandy flashed big smiles on the red carpet for the big premiere of License to Wed. This isn't our favorite look on either of them (Oh Mandy Mandy Mandy what's with that dress?), but we've got to admit that these two make quite the adorable pair - even co-star Robin Williams agrees that both Mandy and John can attract audiences based on their cute factor alone. He said, "That John Krasinski, he's a totally attractive man, and I was happy to be in the same scenes with him. And Mandy Moore, she's just so damn beautiful, and if I was 20 years younger I'd still be too old for her!" Sounds like Robin is the perfect guy to have around for a little self-esteem boost. We bet these three had tons of fun cracking each other up on the set. Check out this new clip of the movie, and next week to read Buzz's review.

Movie Clip: License to Wed

Thank you to MTV.com for this little clip of John Krasinski, Mandy Moore and Robin Williams from License to Wed, their romantic comedy opening next week on July 3.

Thank you to MTV.com for this little clip of John Krasinski, Mandy Moore and Robin Williams from License to Wed, their romantic comedy opening next week on July 3. As you may have seen from the previews, Robin Williams plays the minister advising soon-to-be newlyweds Sadie (Moore) and Ben (Krasinski) on all things marriage. For one of their ill-conceived pre-wedding challenges, Ben directs a blindfolded Sadie as she drives. My favorite part of this whole thing may be the intro, however, when the three are in bed together, and then Mandy drives them away, only to have Williams flop back on the bed. The clip itself features Krasinski being adorable as usual, so read more

John Has a License To Be Cute

Mandy has been everywhere promoting License To Wed lately, so it's only fair that we give her co-star John some attention too.

Mandy has been everywhere promoting License To Wed lately, so it's only fair that we give her co-star John some attention too. He's looking all cute and stylish for a photoshoot - we have decided to overlook the repeat cardigan offense. We have to admit that the more we see of John, the more we are liking him in the role of a leading man - which is good, because maybe he'll be lucky enough to steal a few scenes away from George once Leatherheads hits the theaters.

John Gets Some Help From His Office Buddies

John and Mandy continue to make their rounds through NYC promoting License to Wed.

John and Mandy continue to make their rounds through NYC promoting License to Wed. After TRL, they hit The Sauce as well as The Today Show. We're big fans of Mandy's so we love the double duty of movie and album talk show round ups. We're also fans of John's so we're loving the fact that they are co-stars. John grows on us more each day and our favorite star of the Office spoke about his first experience as the leading man in a film. Here's more:

Q: Can you talk to me a little bit about working with your 'Office' castmates on "License to Wed?" Was it fun or do you need a break from them at this point?

Krasinski: No, not at all, I would never need a break from them. In fact they were a really nice sort of lifeline to have. Because I was really really nervous, it was my first big role. So coming in and seeing them all there, just made it feel like home and made it feel really comfortable. We work well together, we have a really good time. I wouldn't even call it work, just kind of hanging out.

Sounds like John had lots of support to get him through his first big movie. We wonder if he had the opportunity to put any of his fellow castmate's scripts in Jell-O, Jim Halpert style.

John Krasinski: the Everyman Is Everywhere

John Krasinski's popularity has ballooned thanks to his role as Jim Halpert on "The Office," where he plays the everyman with a relaxed, boyish charm.

John Krasinski's popularity has ballooned thanks to his role as Jim Halpert on "The Office," where he plays the everyman with a relaxed, boyish charm. Personally, I never used to think of him as "hot," but now I can't help it: His personality is so appealing on the show that he's become an unlikely sex symbol.

Lucky for me — and countless other ladies, no doubt — our beloved John is going to be pretty much everywhere for the next year. We couldn't escape him if we tried, but then again, why would we want to? To check out all of the projects he has in the works, read more

Mandy is Licensed to Wed (On the Big Screen Anyway)

Mandy was a range of emotions as she returned to LAX the other day from Vancouver where she's filming some scenes from her upcoming film, License to Wed.

Mandy was a range of emotions as she returned to LAX the other day from Vancouver where she's filming some scenes from her upcoming film, License to Wed. The film also stars Robin Williams who plays a wacky marriage counselor that puts Mandy and The Office's John Krasinski through a series of rigorous relationship challenges before they get married. The movie sounds kind of cute but then again Mandy is involved so we'd expect nothing less.
