We have a winner! I can't believe that's it for American Idol season eight. What do you think of this result?

totally, wow great time to say that for the first time. . . But seriously, I think that Adam should have won. When Seacrest said "Kris Allen" my face looked like Kris's. I was so shocked, Adam should have won. But it came down to the all American, gool old boy from the south and the city-boy rocker. I'm in Canada, and very few people are so predujusted, I'm not a die-hard fan, but I do think that Adam should have won because his style and theatrics were never overboard and he's a real precence. When he's on the stage it's like a personality, Kris just stands still with his guitar. Adam is, like, dancing and interacting, Kris smiles at the crowd. Adam can hit notes that I have never heard before, Kris plays it safe and stayed in a much lower range the whole season. I think the risks he took and just the simple fact that he is a real performer should have won him the title. Both of them had lows; Adam's were a stark difference from the rest of his season, but those lows were some people's best. Kris was pretty strimelined and consistant the whole season. Adam's highs were much, much higher than Kris's highs, but his lows stood out and you could just tell that he was having an off night, I think that combined with his unusual style and theatrics, the fact that he's gay, and the Christen population worked against him unfairly. Lost him the title, that's because of who he is. I don't care what people say about how Kris is hot and Adam is a fag, and they say that like it should be obvious that Adam should loose becuase of that. Just because Kris is "hot" doesn't mean that he should become American Idol, nor does it mean that he deserves to loose. Same with Adam. People judged everyone based on what they saw, rather on the actual performences and their singing. Adam can really sing - if you think that he can only scream, listen to "Tracks of My Tears" - Kris can sing too, but Adam is a better performer and can sing circles around him. Adam can sing the phonebook and make it sound good. [end rant, sorry for any typing errors]

I've noticed that a lot of Kris haters are anonymous. Just wondering, is there a reason? I have never watched American Idol, but they both seem cool, and have unique styles.

He won because of all the little girls that voted for him. Like New Kids on the Block little girls just went nut's over their look. The thing that I love is that there all friends and even though The wrong American idol was chosen they have all benefited from this great wonderful experience.

Wow there are some opinions on this matter, lol. I know a lot of trained singers/musicians and we all seem to agree that yes Adam is the better (technical singer)for him it's effortless he's a natural. Kris on the other hand is the well rounded musician/singer/artist his appeal is certainly more main stream than Adam's. Yes this is a singing competition and by that standard I agree Adam should hold the title but come on are we honestly going to suggest that tens of millions of voters are going to sit by their phones like Federal Judges prepared to judge with out prejudice, I don't think so. Don't disparage Kris too much though, he may not have the technical effortlessness that Adam has but he is amazing in his own right for different reasons. Adam was treated very unfairly because for some one who displayed the up most humility when ever paid a compliment his image was distorted by constant over the top hyping by the judges and by the media. Yes every one loved him but when you can't over saturate pop culture with out a back lash of disinterest. None of that was Adams doing though and that's what was unfair.

shocked did like both but adam has an incredible range and can scream in a way that sounds awesome, can not wait to hear original songs from him---he knows how to rock!!!!!!!

I voted, TWICE. Kris can't hold a candle to Adam. Full stop. But I'm more of a classic/glam rock kind of gal, not a mayer/mraz kind of girl. Who out there is making music like Adam right now? And yet there are not one but TWO comparable and very similar artists doing Kris's thing (mraz/mayer). Kris is okay, don't get me wrong. I'm just an Adam fan: cult classic not best seller.

I liked both of them.I know Adam is going to have a great career.I knew he wasn't going to win and it's not because he is gay.The type of music he is going to make is not going to make idol millions although I'm sure whoever he signs with and whatever album he makes will sell.Kris is commerciable.He is the type of guy that idol likes and that is why he won.

I really liked both of them, but I wanted Kris to win. Whatever though, they're both going to be succesful.

Actually, Deker if you bothered to actually read the comments, you will see that I said Kris' music is more my style.And, I've never met CG, so I'm certainly not her body guard.It's so fun to assume things about people and then make snarky remarks about them!

Maybe she just stumbled across it. You don't know where/how she found it.I might expect a 13-year-old to be as concerned as you seem to be with what other people do, but not a grown adult.

The point is that she either created the Kris image or looked for it online. I might expect that from a 13 year-old, but she appears to be a grown woman. Very heated today.

Mod, SOME Adam fans are freaking out- case in point, Caterpillar who actually put a Kris Fail image up. Really? People need to relax. Some of America likes Kris, some like Adam, and there are plenty that like both, myself included. With 100 million votes, there are plenty of album sales waiting for each contestant, including Danny and Allison.
