Katy Perry to Guest Star on How I Met Your Mother 2011-01-06 10:17:00

There's no doubt that Katy Perry has dominated the music scene over the past year; she racked up wins at last night's People's Choice Awards, and "California Gurls" was recently named the best-selling single of 2010. So is it any surprise that the pop star is turning her attention to acting next?

Perry has signed on for a guest spot on How I Met Your Mother as Zoey's (Jennifer Morrison) cousin, a "beautiful, naive girl" who is also a potential love interest for Ted (that guy sure has dated his share of famous women). I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Perry isn't the mother, since it sounds like she'll only appear on one episode. Even so, I'm excited to see her try acting and play a regular girl, sans whipped cream bras and candy cane tube tops.
