It's a good week for Hollywood actresses! Today comes the announcement of oodles of casting news in the works, as these famous ladies line up for big-screen parts.

- Katherine Heigl is taking over Reese Witherspoon's role in the long-dormant project One for the Money based on the chick lit novel by Janet Evanovich. The story follows an unemployed lingerie buyer (Heigl) who takes up bounty hunting to make some cash. I can picture Heigl balancing the working girl with the kick-buttness needed, but — to quote Izzie Stevens herself — seriously?
- Cate Blanchett is signing on for Hanna, a drama which centers around a 14-year old (Saoirse Ronan) who's been raised to be an assassin by her dad (Eric Bana). No word on Blanchett's role, but she could be a dead-ringer for Ronan's mother. Just a thought.
- James Franco is getting his leading lady for Danny Boyle's 127 Hours. And the lucky woman is: Amber Tamblyn. I'm surprised to see Tamblyn land such a juicy movie role; it's definitely overdue.
- Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland ingenue, Mia Wasikowska, continues to snap up the most sought-after parts for young actresses, adding the upcoming adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre to her resume. She'll be playing Eyre, in a role that was originally set for Ellen Page.
- Rachel Weisz is joining Jim Sheridan's Dream House, a thriller about a husband (Daniel Craig) and wife (Naomi Watts) who move into a house that was the scene of a murdered family. Weisz is set to play their neighbor.

Yet another terrible choice for Heigl. I can only picture that film tanking when it gets released.
1So not gonna lie, the Stephanie Plum books that the Heigl movie are pretty fun and entertaining. But she (and Reese) seem TERRIBLE for the role. Christina Applegate would be my number one choice for it.
2What idiot thought it was a good idea to cast Heigl as Stephanie Plum? I love the books, but she isn't even close to Stephanie.
3I read all of the Stephanie Plum books - I think that they will make excellent movies. There's fun dialogue, lots of action, romance. But I had pictured Rachel McAdams as Stephanie. KH=bad choice!
4What the hell? That makes no sense whatsoever. She's nothing like Stephanie Plum. I've been looking forward to these books being made into film, and THEY JUST RUINED IT FOR ME! BLAH!
