James Marsden: Love Him or Leave Him?

As much as I love to see James Marsden popping up in a romance (you know, he's usually the other guy the girl doesn't end up with; see Enchanted and The Notebook) he's still one of those actors whose name a lot of people still don't know.

Hopefully, his face and name will get a little more familiar with time — he has been cast in live action/CGI hybrid I Hop opposite Russell Brand. Marsden plays a slacker, while Brand plays, um, the Easter Bunny whom Marsden's character accidentally injures and then has to take in.

While you're digesting that plot, let's just focus on Marsden. His rakish good looks and charm can lift up a stagnant comedy (ahem, 27 Dresses) but he still makes some questionable work choices (Sex Drive, the upcoming remake of Death at a Funeral). What do you make of him?

I absolutly love him!!! I think he is so cute and talented. But I also agree that he does have a streak as the guy who doesn't get the girl. That needs to be changed cuz he is so adorable :)

I think he's lovely, but I've never actually ever been wowed by him. He tends to play the second fiddle in just about every movie he does so he doesn't get to make much of an impression. X-Men, Enchanted, The Notebook - he's always the safe choice.

Loved him in the X-men movies. He was great as Cyclops! And he was really good in "Hairspray" too.

He's adorable. He does seem to have a streak of movies where he doesn't get the girl (X-Men, Notebook, Enchanted, Superman Returns), but he's always cute losing out!

I thought Sex Drive was hysterical, and I thought James Marsden was great in it. I certainly like him better doing these small comedy roles than i do as the guy who never gets the girl (The notebook, X-Men, Enchanted)
