The Hunger Games's Effie to Be Played by Elizabeth Banks

Casting for The Hunger Games is coming fast and furious now. Earlier today we met the actors that will play Thresh and Rue, but now we've got a bigger name thrown into the mix: Elizabeth Banks is in talks to play Effie Trinket, the effervescent escort who helps prep Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) for The Hunger Games. I had envisioned Kristin Chenoweth in the role, but Banks should be able to easily handle Effie's painfully bubbly personality.
