Who Should Win the Emmy For Best Lead Actor, Drama?

As we continue to break down this year's Emmy nominees, it's time to take a step up from supporting actors and actresses and take a closer look at the leads.

As we continue to break down this year's Emmy nominees, it's time to take a step up from supporting actors and actresses and take a closer look at the leads. The race for best lead actor in a drama is a pack of heavy hitters to say the least; four of these guys have been nominated in their roles before!

Let's start with the newcomers: Matthew Fox scored his first nod for the final season of Lost, while Kyle Chandler's name appears for the first time after being overlooked in past years for Friday Night Lights. This marks Hugh Laurie's fifth nomination for House and Bryan Cranston's third for Breaking Bad (Cranston is also undefeated thus far!). Michael C. Hall and Jon Hamm also have three nods apiece for Dexter and Mad Men, respectively.

The competition is so fierce even I'm having trouble figuring out who deserves the trophy. That's why I need you all to weigh in and help me decide: state your case for the man that deserves the Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a drama series!

Leighton Meester Has More to Gossip About

Move over, Chuck Bass — there's a new man in Leighton Meester's life.

Move over, Chuck Bass — there's a new man in Leighton Meester's life. Well, on the big screen anyway. Meester is set to star opposite Hugh Laurie in the upcoming indie comedy The Oranges. The film focuses on the relationship between a man and his daughter's best friend, which naturally causes turmoil in both of their lives. Presumably, Leighton will be playing the friend and Laurie will be her older suitor, with Catherine Keener also set to star.

The pervy dad shacking up with Lolita-type isn't exactly a groundbreaking idea (American Beauty immediately comes to mind), but the comedy genre is what's getting me here. Can you see Meester and Laurie having chemistry and comedic timing?

The People's Choice Winners Do the Press Room and Portraits

After their fun onstage moments at the People's Choice Awards, the evening's winners headed into the press room to pose with and chat about their newly-won statues.

After their fun onstage moments at the People's Choice Awards, the evening's winners headed into the press room to pose with and chat about their newly-won statues. Buzz was there covering the scene, where Mariah Carey opened up about her work in Precious and a possible biopic. Hugh Jackman also shared his advice for Oscar hosts Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin while Sandra Bullock discussed her pre-awards show routine. Jessica Alba and Ashton Kutcher stayed together to celebrate his web celeb win, as Diane Kruger got cozy with her Inglourious Basterds guys BJ Novak and Eli Roth. Taylor Swift kissed the latest statue to add to her rapidly growing collection.

Mariah brought Nick Cannon along to hit the portrait studio, wrapping up another exciting if less champagne-filled night. The casts of House and Glee each crowded together for group shots. The other winners also stopped by to ham it up for the cameras in some of the night's cutest photos. There's more People's Choice Awards coverage coming up, including video of our red carpet interviews, more from the press room, and all of the night's fashion and beauty breakdowns!

People's Choice Are a Taylor-ed, Tipsy, Fun and Festive Affair!

The red carpet sexiness was just a precursor to the excitement of the People's Choice Awards show.

The red carpet sexiness was just a precursor to the excitement of the People's Choice Awards show. Queen Latifah was once again host for the star-studded evening and kept the clip quick for the two-hour show. Ellen was the night's first winner — check out the full list here! Sacha Baron Cohen finished off the show with a funny presentation to his Sweeney Todd costar and Favorite Movie Actor of the Decade, Johnny Depp. Country sweethearts Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood both walked away with statues and there was no on camera Lautner-Swift run-in. One of the cutest parts of the show was when Inglourious Basterds' Diane Kruger, Eli Roth and BJ Novak announced Lautner's win with cheering. Nicole Kidman sported gloves as she held hands with Keith Urban, who was named Favorite Male Artist, after they posed with Latifah and boy Taylor.

Mariah Carey had to have some help on her way up to the stage to accept for Favorite R&B Artist, and once she and Nick Cannon made it to the press room she was ready to joke about her Palm Springs appearance that had everyone talking, announcing to the press, "Everybody in the club's getting tipsy!" Sandra Bullock got a little emotional accepting one of her awards of the night, but backstage she was all about joking with her fellow-winner and The Proposal castmate Ryan Reynolds. Valentine's Day costars Jessica Alba and Ashton Kutcher posed together backstage after she awarded him the web celeb honors — which he of course streamed live on his Twitter. It was a great night all around, and we're so excited for all the fun and madness coming up all award season long!

Are You Surprised by Forbes's Top-Earning Men in Prime Time?

Forbes recently released the list of Prime Time's Top-Earning Men.

Forbes recently released the list of Prime Time's Top-Earning Men. Who made the cut? In order, they are: Simon Cowell, followed by Donald Trump, Ryan Seacrest, Charlie Sheen, Steve Carell, Howie Mandel, Kiefer Sutherland, Jeff Foxworthy, Hugh Laurie, and at No. 10 (a tie!) David Caruso of CSI: Miami and Patrick Dempsey.

Simon Cowell at No. 1 is a no-brainer, thanks to the unstoppable machine that is American Idol (not to mention all of his other shows). But there are a few names that made me do a double take. Jeff Foxworthy, for instance — who knew that Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader was such a money generator? And where's Jeff Probst? I guess the Survivor franchise doesn't carry as much clout as I thought.

What about you? Other than maybe Simon Cowell at number 1, do you find this list surprising?

The stars of Fox partied the night away after a successful day of TCA presentations in Pasadena yesterday. Joshua Jackson had Diane Kruger with him all day and at the party, though she stayed out of the spotlight. Diane almost blended in with the crowd as she sipped a beer while Josh fielded questions about Fringe. He also talked about how much he loved going to Comic-Con and interacting with all the fans. The cast of Glee took it all in as everyone wanted to congratulate them on their upcoming show, though Lea Michele said she was mostly looking forward to everyone finally seeing more than just the pilot. Meanwhile, Buzz was off at the So You Think You Can Dance finale, where she chatted with the winner Jeanine — check it out here!

New House Promo: Paging Dr. Crazy!

I didn't think I'd get that excited about a promo for the House season that won't even start for another nine weeks or so, but I've now watched this video three times and my heart is still pounding like crazy.

I didn't think I'd get that excited about a promo for the House season that won't even start for another nine weeks or so, but I've now watched this video three times and my heart is still pounding like crazy. And speaking of crazy, this promo features our beloved protagonist at "the asylum," all intense and surlier than ever (so it looks like at least one of my questions for the upcoming season will be answered). The combining of the images with Elbow's song "Grounds For Divorce" is pretty magnificent. I know, it seems weird to be all worked up over a 30-second promo, but it's just good!
