The English class staple about the glittering 1920s has been translated into movies on the big and small screens, with the most well-known being Francis Ford Coppola's 1974 version with Robert Redford in the title role and Mia Farrow as Daisy.
Extra credit: Coppola may get a run for his money when Baz Luhrmann unveils his own Gatsby in 2013. Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan play Gatsby and Daisy, but perhaps the most jarring modernization will be that it's going to be in 3D.
