Heigl on Grey's For Another Season: Yay? Or Ugh?

Many of you voted to keep Izzie alive on Grey's Anatomy so perhaps you'll be pleased to learn that Katherine Heigl will apparently return to the show next season. Then again, the majority of votes also went to Izzie in this poll about which original Grey's character you would ditch. Though this answers one of my questions about the next season, I still feel a little worn out — I was preparing for her to die and now she's staying on? Huh.

Is this good news? Do you want another season of Grey's with Izzie (and apparently without George)? Or do you think she should just leave the show already?

I love Izzie and Alex together. I would be beyond bummed if Izzie left and Alex was left alone without her. There would be no purpose to watch this show any longer. Keep Izzie alive and kicking with Alex!!!

Izzie is absolutely my favorite character and I hope that she stays on the show.I will miss George though, even though he's been a bit in the background already. If they keep him next season they can come up with a pretty good story for him to keep his character going for awhile.I wish that I could have both of them ):I vote Izzie for the win, just because she holds a special little place in my heart

Izzie's best story line has been this past season. I'm tired of hearing about Katherine Heigl's antics - they should fire her already.

Hmmm... makes no sense. Nobody can survive stage 4 metastasized melanoma. If they make her live, it's just plain medical silliness.

Yayy! I'm happy about this. I like Izzie. It would've been way too much to lose both Izzie and George at the same time.

I agree with some of the above comments- Katherine as a person- don't care too much for Katherine as Izzie- I just started liking. I don't want to see Alex go through a loss like that especially since he has come so far with letting his guard down. They will keep her on for maybe another season and then she will die giving birth to her and Alex's kid.George sad to see go but he didn't have a big role this season at all. There is no way he would have been able to come back from that horrible accident and lived a normal life being a doctor at SG.

Maybe she won't live on to survive the whole season--and maybe that's the best of both worlds for viewers. Just no more ghosts please!

I would have been fine with Izzie leaving, but I don't mind her staying either. As long as next season isn't the Izzie show again. I am upset about George though :(.

i was ready to let go of her character.. nothing against her, but come on.. how do they still keep her after she was supposed to die!?

I thought she would be on for another season, or at least a few more episodes by the way they had her look back into the elevator at the very end, like she had to decide between staying with George who had already gotten out and going back (staying alive). I wonder what will happen to her next season if she survives the first episode.
