Great TV Engagements: "Friends"

Every day this week, in honor of Engagement Week on the Sugar Network, I'll be featuring my favorite TV engagements, for better or for worse.

Of course, I couldn't overlook this classic moment when Monica proposes to her best friend, Chandler, on "Friends." At least, she starts to propose to him before getting all choked up and squealing "There's a reason why girls don't do this!" Chandler decides to take it from there.

Tragically, the only clip I could find on YouTube includes subtitles, but if you — like me — find this scene slightly nauseating, at least the subtitles might make you chuckle. If it makes you weepy, the subtitles shouldn't interfere too much, so read more

:oy: I hated this scene. The engagement of Chandler and Monica was the beginning of the end for this show. Which makes me sad, because it was SO GOOD the first 5 seasons or so.

I'm with you Buzz, I find it slightly nauseating because I hate Matthew Perry's weepy, nervous voice. He was the one charging around the city trying to catch her to propose, and he obviously knows she's going to say yes, so he shouldn't be nervous here. But I do like at the end when Joey yells through the door asking if they can come in yet.

I loved this moment on the show. Rarely on television do main characters actually work once they are in a relationship, but these 2 really blossomed on the show once they were a couple.
i loved loved loved this episode!
