Serena is on the job for David O. Russell's film adaptation of The Beautiful and the Damned, and she's like a new person, all devoted to her career and such. Her supervisor Marshall is determined to keep her down, going as far as setting her up to buy drugs for one of the actors. Before she leaves LA, one of the producers offers Serena a job on another film, which she accepts.
