Chuck embraces therapy in an effort to change, but his doctor, Eliza Barnes, is actually trying to get him to resort to his bad boy ways. An insecure Louis pays her to ensure Chuck becomes the "monster" he once was, so that Blair never falls for him again. When Chuck discovers the plot, he retaliates by publicly accusing Eliza of hypnotizing him against his will. When she tells him she thinks he's actually changing for the better, he ends up proving her right. He apologizes to Blair for how he's mistreated her over the years and appears to finally let her go, by leaving the giant engagement ring he bought for her on the doorstep of the Harry Winston store.
