Those of you who are defending The Tourist are missing the point - even if you didn't think that movie was horrible, the performances and nothing else about it deserved to be nominated. I completely agree; I am absolutely appalled that the Hollywood Foreign Press took those nominations away from other deserving candidates...

I'm disappointed about Leo not being nominated either. Maybe not for Inception, but how about Shutter Island? That was a pretty emotionally intense role.

I thought The Tourist was great. It was beautiful, simple, and a lot of fun. I would watch it again just for the clothes. It was also funny: The spanish in Venice really was inspired.

The Town is overrated so I'm not suprised, and I'm quite pleased that the Hollywood Foreign Press saw right through it! :)

How the Tourist got nominated for anything while The Town got totally ripped off (save for Jeremy Renner's nomination) is beyond me. Blake Lively's performance was superb, and Ben Affleck's omisison for director OR screenplay was a gross oversight.
