Preview: James McAvoy and Emily Blunt Are Gnomeo & Juliet

4

William Shakespeare's most famous love story has seen many different incarnations in the film world, but I'm fairly certain that Gnomeo and Juliet is the first time his star-crossed lovers are being portrayed by garden gnomes. James McAvoy and Emily Blunt lend their voices to Gnomeo and Juliet, respectively, as the concrete sweethearts are divided by the long-feuding red hats and blue hats. Given the inherent cuteness of the garden gnome and the inherent cuteness of a kids' film, this movie looks to be a crowd-pleaser (come on, what lady doesn't love McAvoy these days?).

Another element sure to make things more fun is Elton John. The legendary musician lends new and old tunes to the CGI movie, and I'm already grooving a little bit to "Saturday Night's Alright." Check out the trailer when you read more.
