Ginnifer Goodwin to Find Something Borrowed

Ginnifer Goodwin is looking for another kind of big love: the actress is in talks to star in Something Borrowed, the movie adaptation of Emily Giffin's best-selling novel about a woman whose love triangle threatens an engagement. Goodwin knows a thing or two about love triangles (and beyond) from her TV role as Big Love's Margene, but I'm pretty excited to see her try her hand at another romantic comedy — especially since He's Just Not That Into isn't exactly my favorite.

Hilary Swank's company is producing the film after she made news this Summer about buying the movie rights, but she apparently has opted not to star, leaving those honors to Goodwin. Fans of the book, are you happy with this casting?

Fanny Fan Fan: totally agree on your description of Rachel. I don't think Ginnifer fits the role either that I imagined from reading the book (twice!) I think that Jennifer Connelly would've been a great fit, or just someone who plays more intellectual, strong women kind of roles. GG's a bit too perky and cutesy for the role and it's not super convincing that she's a big time attorney in NYC. I still imagine her in her role in HJNTIY. Dex's casting - disappointed with the pick. Was thinking of someone along the hotness factor of Sawyer from "Lost" or someone who's convincingly an intellectual finance guy or attorney. Colin just comes off to me as an underwear model. Darcy - great casting. I think Kate Hudson does well in this role, but I could've totally seen Darcy played by some other super flirty actresses too. nice job casting Darcy though. Ethan - John totally fits the bill. The only other actors I could imagine for his role would be Ryan Reynolds or maybe James Marsden i LOVE her books and have read all of them! can't wait for the movies to come out!!!

I agree with above, that Ginnifer is cute and talented but is NOT Rachel. I've read these books twice and would much rather see Anne Hathaway for the part!!!!

Was anybody else considered? I thought Jenna Fischer would of kicked as Rachel. Or an alternative could of been Rachel McAdams, but never in a million years would I have picked Ginnifer. I agree with Fanny Fan!

Yes yes yes! Loved the book! Love GG. Love Kate Hudson (to play Darcy) and even more... LOVE john krasinski (playing ethan). SO excited for this movie! Must reread the book now...

To Dolphin: Something Borrowed is the first book, something blue is the second. I don't think she fits the role because she is too cute or as some say annoying. If anyone remembers, Rachel is supposed to be not all that attractive, just a plain jane not and I pictured her not the cutesy type but more the stronger but silent type where as the best friend is the annoying beautiful type haha. Time will tell if she pulls this off the way Emily Giffin wrote it.

I just read the book cover to cover in 2 days.. I loved the plot. It goes against every best friends intuition. Whoever plays Dex.. I hope they pick a hottie.. because I just see him as this very attractive tall dark and handsome man that has a little muscle on him... hopefully they don't pick someone to thin. I hope they stick to the storyline... whatever happens.. I cannot wait until the movie comes out.

Cute book, great actress. She steals the show in Big Love. Can't wait!

I wish they would start with the first book. The whole series is great. Then again it doesn't have car crashes, robots, or vampires; however, it's a book series about characters you really care about from start to finish. Now isn't that a "novel" idea. :-)

I agree with PrincessLtrain --- she was so annoying in HJNTIY!!! I'm thinking more Anne Hathaway or Rachel Bilson.

This book was awful! I hope they completely change the plot to make it a cute movie.

No no no! Her character was rather pathetic in "HJNTIY" and this character isn't any better! She's so adorable and incredibly talented, she should be playing good characters, not the "maid of honor best friend who has an affair with the groom throughout the entire engagement."
