This week's Game of Thrones features one of the series's most shocking sequences so far: the aptly named bloody "red wedding" where Robb, his wife, Talisa, and Catelyn are all massacred at the hands of Walder Frey's men. Even if you read the books and knew this was coming, watching that scene was devastating. In fact, I think its emotional impact is only rivaled by the death of Ned Stark in season one. And on that note, I wonder if this week's horrible deaths (with their brutality, considering Talisa's pregnancy) edge out Ned's beheading in terms of the more shocking Game of Thrones death. Or can Ned's impactful assassination not be topped?
