Frozen Trailer: Scary or Silly?

Clearly we all have fears about being left behind in less-than-ideal conditions — remember shark-infested horror Open Water? Frozen also plays on that fear, only the conditions are icy, cold snow. Three skiers (including Gossip Girl's Kevin Zegers) get stuck on a chairlift on their way up a mountain when it stops, stranding them and leaving them to face uncertainty (and creepy things, naturally).

Maybe you have to be seriously paranoid about skiing or snowboarding to feel the chill in this trailer, but it's just not frightening me like most scary movie trailers would (but the end does gross me out). What do you think — is the Frozen trailer scary or silly?

i think you on the bottom are dumb the thing that could happen 20 feet in the air is freazing to death. i saw it like 3 days ago and it was good. but very gruesome. its a very scary situation. intense too.

This looks so pointless. It would never happen, plus you're basically safe if you're in a chairlift... there are no predators for humans hanging 20 feet in the air. Open Water was good because you were constantly afraid of sharks or other things swimming around. Here, there's nothing.And if you're actually stupid enough to put your bare hand on frozen metal (which I didn't think anyone would actually do), you can pee on it to get it off without tearing off your skin. Gross, but better than the alternative.

Hey at least it's a plot I've actually never heard of/or seen done before.I think it looks good.That's my kind of scary movie.

Heres the thing, who is anywhere without a cell phone?! Sort of a good premise, but SO never-gonna-happen. Plus it doesnt look scary at all-

It's not even a matter of the reality of the situation - of course this would never happen; but the conflicts in scary movies; neh most movies; are usually improbably and often impossible. The truth is that if this did happen; or if the much more probable scenario of a person getting stranded in a place of freezing temperature, it would actually be very serious and scary. It's just presenting this as the synopsis of a two hour movie (or even one hour) and the way they wrote it is so ridiculous - "It's Sunday and they won't open till Friday!" hahaha; it sounded sooo cheesy and like a parody! Unfortunately, though, I'm sure tons of people will watch it...

Come on this is so improbable. In college I worked winters at a ski resort and the one thing that was always done no matter what was the ski patrol and instructors were the last ones on the lift for the day. Once they reached the top they would radio down the lift ops would shut down the lift and wait there until all the ski patrol and instructors got to the bottom of the mountain. This was to ensure no one was left on the lift and that if there were any late in the day injuries they could still turn the lift back on for the emergency crew to come up. The premise that the mountain would be closed for 5 days is more of a probability though since during the spring we would only be open on the weekends.
