How do they keep doing it? Prison Break is one of those shows that seemed to have a really solid premise for one season. Maybe two. Certainly not three — and four? Out of the question.
Except that this Fox drama just keeps dodging the bullet. This week, Fox announced that Prison Break is returning for a fourth season of 22 episodes, which will begin airing in the Fall. The series will relocate from Dallas to Los Angeles, where key storylines will be taking place.
The show only got to air 13 episodes this season because of the writers' strike, but they certainly weren't lacking in drama — much revolving around the departure of a major character. It isn't a very highly rated show (the 13 episodes averaged 8.2 million viewers) but the audience it has seems to be enough to keep Fox happy. A spinoff focusing on a women's prison is also still in the works, likely focusing on a character that will be introduced sometime in the fourth season.
Prison Break fans, is the show's return good news for you? Or do you think the series has already run its course?

I agree it was a show that really should have been only one season. But i will take as many seasons of Dominic Purcell on TV as i can get.
1I love the show and its storyline but some episodes definitely feel dragged out.
2great news for me, I love the show can't get enough of it
3i'm in love with this show: the characters and the actors who play them as well as the story. however, i think 2 seasons was about all the storyline could manage. this is a perfect case of a tv show that should stop airing while they're ahead. but i'll watch as long as it's on!
4wow. i can't believe its still on. Great first season, okay second season, but really? a fourth? come on!
5The third season wasn't but the best but it was still good tv.
6I'm looking forward to the new season because anything can happen and it probably will. I'd probably watch Wentworth in anything, to be honest.
After they killed **** I was done. I still have four episodes in my TiVo that I haven't watched, and I don't think I will. I loved the first and second season, but last season was awful.
7GOOD NEWS! Though I miss Sara, it´s still an awesome show.
8Sugar contributers, you should note that Prison Break is also broadcasted around the world, and has been very successful in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. So the fact that there were only 8.2 million American viewers for the third season doesn't really mean anything to me (I live in the Czech Republic but come from Israel; as far as I know Prison Break is a major hit in both countries). Besides, I loved the first two season, and yea, I was really upset when they killed off the specific character you are referring to. All the same, I think the show is great, personally I'll be waiting for season 4.
9LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS NEWS! You just made my day, Buzz!
10YAYYYYYYY, I LOVE this show!
P.S. They had no choice but to kill her off the actress totally quit on them, what else were they supposed to do?
11Mmmmm, more Wenty candy for my eyes. Yummy yummy! I love his character because he's so intelligent and capable...and the obvious. I guess next season will be about trying to get that guy out that went to prison for them.
12Good, i need to see my man, Went.
13After the second season I seriously gave up on ever seeing them go free LOL. I love Prison Break, but it seems like they're now just going to hop from one prison to another until the show gets cancelled.
14I started to watch PB about 2 months ago and found myself fell for Went's incredible eyes from the very first episode.
15Sure it's a VERY GOOD NEWS!! I'm sooo looking forward for the next seasons, not only the fourth
