The biggest thing that is going for the remake is that Kenny and Julianne can actually dance. No doubles for this version. Yay!!

So it's pretty much a shot-for-shot remake? Yawn. I'm not in love with the original Footloose, but it is a classic, and I don't get Hollywood's obsession with remakes. The only time I think a remake is (semi) justified is when it's a heavy-action or fantasy movie that could benefit from new CGI techniques.
