The Five-Year Engagement Review Video

Hi, I'm Shannon Vestal and in Watch, Pass or Rent, we are checking out the 5 year engagement. Jason Segel and Emily Blunt play a happy couple who gets engaged but have to keep moving the wedding back to accommodate her career. I got a letter from the University of Michigan. I got the job for two years. Two years is nothing. Really? You wanna start planning the wedding again from there? Babe. I was really looking forward to this movie because I am a huge fan of Jason Segel and Emily Blunt. But I was disappointed because the movie is neither as romantic nor as funny as I was hoping. Babe, you kinda have a yarmulke. I have a hold, it's in my Jewish drawer. This couple is perfectly cast. Jason is this big teddy bear of a fiancee as Tom, and Emily is funny and relatable as Violet. They're the cutest couple at the beginning of the movie, but after they have to move to Michigan for her job, the relationship starts to fall apart and the characters get totally dragged down It's just a bummer. You told me it was going to be two years. I thought there would be a lot of comedy because Jason Seigal and Nick Stoller wrote the script and they also Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which is hilarious. But while there are some laugh-out-loud moments in the Five Year Engagement, it's not as consistently funny or as light Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Right. One thing I did love was the supporting cast. You've got people like Alison Brie, Chris Pratt, and Mindy Kaling, who are all on some of my favorite TV shows. they provide a lot of comic relief even when the couple is unhappy. Are you wearing Chanel #5 by chance? I'm not wearing any What do you think? The movie is too long, so it definitely gets boring, especially right around the middle. And even though this couple has a great chemistry the plot is such a downer, especially if you're looking for a light romantic comedy, so I have to give it a "rent."
