First Look: Mamma Mia!

Good news, musical fans! The teaser trailer for Mamma Mia, starring Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth, is now online in all its cheery song-and-dance glory. The story focuses on Sophie's (Amanda Seyfried) search to find out which of three men is her father as she prepares to get married, all set to Abba music. The setting is the vibrantly colorful Greece and today's little teaser trailer is like a jolt of freshness and light. I have to admit, it put me in a fantastic mood. The movie opens July 18. Mama Mia! looks fantastic! i can't wait to see it. I just love Meryl Streep and Colin Firth.

Saw the stage version and LOVED it so I must check out the movie version. It'll probably be a large group outing with my friends since we've been kicked out of TGIFidays more than once for somebody being drunk and singing "Dancing Queen" atop at table.... Plus Colin, Pierce, and Dominic (he was great in The History Boys which another stage to screen adaption I had to chance to see him in and loved)are all rather attractive gents so bonus points. Yay theater!

I LOVE MAMMA MIA! I'm glad it's going to be a movie because I can't afford to see them every time they tour. I like Meryl Streep but I just don't see her playing the mom. Maybe I'll be surprised. Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan... DREAMY!!!

I love love love that musical movies are making a come back. I completely adore theatre, and I really enjoyed this show when I saw it in Toronto. Also, it's Meryl Streep, and in my book that woman can do no wrong she is absolutely incredbile. I am SO excited.

Wow Ihave to admit when I heard they made an ABBA musical I thought *barf* even though I LOVE ABBA but the preview looks like so much fun. And how much MORE awesome does Meryl Streep seem now that she is going to be in this movie. This makes up for that whole Evening thing. On another note why are all these trailers for movies that are so far from being released. I want instant gratification!!!

Looks like it'll be a fun summer flick. Did Amanda Seyfried lose weight for this role? She seemed more voluptuous before. I hope they didn't make her get skinnier. She's lovely just the way she is.

I took my mother to see the musical a few years ago and I couldn't stand it. :( I doubt I'll be seeing this. It does look like a lot of fun, though.

I have seen this musical and everytime I love it more and more! I hope that the spirit and the passion in the musical- especially the London cast lives on in this movie....aaah!!! So excited for this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
