Fall 2009 Romantic Movie Picks

What the posters for Love Happens have in schmaltz (see left: the two emotional actors nuzzling each other), the cast makes up for in clout — that's Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston doing the nuzzling there. Hopefully Eckhart brings some of that to his role as a widower who falls for a woman (Aniston) while promoting his book about . . . yes, the wife he lost. My gut feeling on this one isn't the greatest, but I'm taking an optimistic route since Aniston and Eckhart seem sweet together. Opens this Friday, Sept. 18.
