Rewind: This Week's Buzz
- Big weekend, TV fans — the Emmys are tomorrow night! In the meantime check out all my coverage, let me know who you're hoping will win, and don't forget to enter my Emmy ballot contest!
- It was quite the week of TV previews as Fall programming gets underway. Early in the week I was intrigued by a preview of the 24 prequel, Redemption. Check it out here.
- There are so many shows I'm itching to see again, including The Office! Good thing new previews keep coming out to keep me occupied. I also made do with a video recap of How I Met Your Mother's last season.
- Did you hear? Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell is writing a pair of young adult books about Carrie Bradshaw's teenage years. I can already picture the CW adaptation, a la Gossip Girl, can't you?
- It was hard to miss all the buzz around Tina Fey's return to Saturday Night Live as Sarah Palin. I was curious if you preferred SNL's political sketches over the others.
- I saw Ghost Town and thought it was funny enough, with a dose of sweetness. Do you think you'll watch it in theaters, rent it, or pass on it altogether?
- I'm also using a funny picture from Ghost Town for my Caption It contest!
- Two heavy, gripping trailers were out this week and both include Philip Seymour Hoffman. He plays a priest in the intense-looking Doubt which also stars Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. And PSH leads another cast of amazing women in Charlie Kaufman's directorial debut, Synecdoche, New York.
- Finally I was shocked to learn on Monday that a very talented writer, David Foster Wallace, had passed away.
