I'm not quite sure why Ellen Page signed on for those Cisco commercials, but her latest venture definitely carries more heft. The actress has signed on for Freeheld, a drama based on an Oscar-winning short documentary about a New Jersey car mechanic (Page) who goes to war over pension benefits when her girlfriend is diagnosed with a terminal illness. The project is being adapted by the same screenwriter who penned Philadelphia, which means that we could soon be saying goodbye to Page's baby-faced, snarky teen parts and hello to award season.
