3 Theories About What Will Happen to Alex in OITNB's Season 4 Premiere
While season four of Orange Is the New Black is basically here, we're still going to offer a spoiler alert: if you've made it to the end of the third season, please proceed.
While so many of the inmates find themselves having the best day ever in the season finale, Alex may be facing the last day of her life. As she's sweeping the greenhouse, an unexpected ghost from her past shows up. It's Aydin, one of the lackeys who worked under her old boss/drug kingpin, Kubra. He's presumably there to kill her for ratting out Kubra, but does he actually kill her? Here's what might happen.
Aydin kills her.
Let's just get this out of the way. There's a possibility that Aydin is there to kill Alex, and he succeeds. That would be a pretty grim way to start season four, and it seems highly unlikely given that she's in pictures for season four.
Aydin isn't actually there to kill her.
Let's review the dialogue from the final scene. Alex sees Aydin and says, "You don't have to do this." He says, "Yeah, I do." The music intensifies, and that's the last we see of Alex. Now, we can assume from the sinister look in his eyes that he's there to harm her . . . but what if he's not? He could be there to pass her a message from Kubra, or maybe he's enlisting her to do some dirty work from the inside. Let's just keep our options open.
Someone — maybe Lolly — saves her.
Lolly is set up to be the villain of Alex's storyline this season, but once Alex confronts her, Lolly reveals her true colors: she's a looney tune who actually thinks Alex is part of a conspiracy to kill her. It's possible that it's all an act to throw Alex off her scent, but let's assume that's not the case. Lolly is on the scene right before Aydin shows up in the greenhouse: what if she forgets something and walks in right as he's coming at Alex? She could save the day — especially if she still has that shard of glass hidden somewhere. While most of the inmates are seen frolicking in the lake, Lolly is absent. Is she in the greenhouse?
