Do You Watch TV on Vacation?

This holiday weekend, many folks will pack as much fun and relaxation into these end-of-Summer days as they can. When I was growing up, this often meant spending a few days at the beach — and turning off the TV. In an effort to actually interact with each other and enjoy the outdoors, we tried not to watch television while on vacation. Even now, all these years later, I still avoid the tube during vacations if I can.

What about you? Do you make an effort to stay away from the television while on vacation? Or is it TV as usual no matter what?

i said no - and not because i like to tune out while i'm away but mostly because i don't get the channels on vacation that my fav shows are on.

It depends what kind of vacation - if we're just going to see relatives, friends, etc., then there probably will be some tv, maybe a few movies. But if it's really going on vacation, Europe or on a beach down south, then tv is absolutely verboten - we're not spending all of that money just to go and watch tv in a different country!

I watch TV on vacation only because I don't have cable at home-- so the prospect of having tens of hundreds of shows at my fingertips at any given moment is all too tempting.

when I was a kid my famil didn't own a tv; so when we went on vacation and would stay with relatives or in a hotel, I would get hooked watching shows that I wouldn't normally watch. now I hate pretty much all tv and I try to take advantage of seeing as much as I can when I go on a trip...
