According to Variety, composer Philip Glass is creating an opera about Walt Disney. The story "imagines the last months of Disney as seen through the eyes of a fictional Austrian cartoonist who worked for him."
I seriously cannot wait to see what the heck this opera looks like.
What do you think of the opera in general? Do you ever go? Or are you not an opera person?

I've gone several times, and would go again if the opportunity arose, but there are other types of entertainment I'd rather spend my money on.
1I tried it. Metropolitan Opera. Thinking you can't get awesomer than that in the main-state United States.
But god, was it awful.
2i've gone to the opera before but i can't say that it's something that i choose to see personally. i guess that this could be interesting/funny but i'd have to hear more about it before i make a real decision.
3I've even performed as a musician in an opera but I cannot stand opera. I'll go to the symphony or chamber music concerts (even choral) any day, but NOT opera.
4the opera isn't for me!
5*sigh* I used to have season tickets before I got married.
6Other. I haven't gone not b/c I don't have the opportunity (I live in LA), but rather because I can't afford it. Are there some inexpensive reasonably priced shows that I can go to?
7How about "No, but I want to!" as an option? I've always lived close to places where they perform opera.. Philadelphia, New York, Boston, LA... so that's not the problem. Money and having someone to go with is the problem!
8Although now that I'm engaged - cha-ching! - instant date! I should drag him along some time.... although money is still an issue..
9Here in New Mexico we are very lucky to have a world class opera house, the Santa Fe Opera. I go all the time, and the venue is one of the best. For those people that picked the last option "...as in Phantom of?" I have five words for you - that is NOT an opera!
10I love it all. The melodramatics, the gorgeous sets and period costumes, the soaring arias and bellowing baritones. The opera makes me experience my feelings multiplied by a factor of ten. It's an amazing experience and I wish I could go more often.
11I voted that I have before but don't go regularly, although I've never been to the opera. I've been to the theatre many times for musicals and plays, but never an opera. I'd definitely be up for it though.
12I've been to the opera twice and enjoyed it!
13I would give it a try at least once in my lifetime.
14I want to go to the opera, but have never been.
15I chose the last option, but I would consider going to the opera. The only type of opera I've been to is Phantom of the Opera(if that counts?). I would see this Walt Disney opera though, I love anything have to do with Disney.
16i prefer operette and ballet.
17I live twenty minutes from the Met, which sells 15 dollar seats, so yes, I go very often. I don't know if I would see an opera about Disney. I love what he created so much, but I don't love that he was an anti-semite. I guess the controversy surrounding him makes him good for an opera.
