Do You Go to Film Festivals?

As this year's Sundance Film Festival kicks off in Utah, the citizens of Park City are surely prepared for the massive influx of visitors to their fair city. Have you ever been one of these Sundance seekers? Do you attend other film festivals — even if they're far away from your town? Or do film festivals not interest you?

they're a lot of fun, but expensive! i can only ever afford to see two or three films at the one i usually go to in the summer (Waterfront), and it's always hit or miss. but it's a good people-watching event too!

I would love to go to Sundance, but I haven't been able to. Maybe when I'm older... My dad went to Sundance a couple years ago and he said it was awesome.

i love film festivals - and i try to go to the Tribeca Film Festival each year, but i don't always make it. i would LOVE to go to Sundance but that's one that i don't know that i'd ever be able to swing.

I've been wanting to go to the Santa Barbara Film Festival. Last year I was literally a couple of blocks from Cate Blanchett. I didn't realize she was going to be there and Im sad I missed an opportunity to see her

I went once, when I was in Honolulu, but I don't think I can judge based on that. I saw the longest, weirdest, crappiest movie I've seen before or since, so that's basically the impression that I have of film festivals, which probably isn't very fair.

I've been to Tribeca for one day which was awesome. They're just so expensive to go for more than a day or so!

San Francisco has a Silent Film Festival at the Castro Theater. It is the funnest thing. There's one coming up on Valentine's Day; sadly I can't be at that one to attend and/or volunteer.

I've been wanting to go to Sundance forever! Maybe next year I can make it out... Last year, my first year living in LA, I went to the LA film festival, which was pretty cool, and before that back when I was in college I attended the Santa Cruz film festival... which is obviously a lot smaller.
