Did You Watch "The Transformers" as a Kid?

Today marks the opening of the new Transformers movie for the younger generation unfamiliar with the 1980s toy line or cartoon series. For me, however, the Transformers will forever spark nostalgia for bygone days of 2-dimensional animation and eerie robotic voices singing "robots in disguise." Anyone else have fond memories of the old toy-based TV series? In memory of the original Transformers, I'm including the old intro to the show. It's more than meets the eye.

Yesss...I did...and I watched Rainbow Brite too. I had a rather diverse set of shows I watched as a kid. Now if they'd only make a live action GI Joe...that'd be pretty BA, if you ask me. GO COBRA!

Transformers, He-man, G.I Joe. And I made my brother watch Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, and She-Ra. We both agreed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ruled them all.

Those cartoons were all on during the same block- transformers, my little ponies, moon dreamers, she-ra, he-man, thundercats. I watched them all.

I did watch Transformers - and now my 5 year old daughter keeps asking me to make the noise they make when they transform. She loves it. We're going to see it today!

Yes with my older brother who was a huge fan of the show. Makes me wonder if they will ever do a live action Rainbow Brite...nah, I doubt it.

Gem was on right before or right after, so I'd get to watch that and my brothers would watch Transformers. More then meets the eye... I can hear it in my head even still.

I was a huge fan of the cartoon, but have a feeling the movie isnt going to be so hot. The silver transformer that turned into an airplane was the best!
