Did You Watch "High School Musical 2"?

Friday night's premiere of "High School Musical 2" on The Disney Channel brought in 17.24 million viewers, which makes it the most watched basic cable program ever. Yes, you read that right - ever. Not only that, but it was the most watched Friday night television program in five years. So I'm guessing it wasn't only tweens and their parents watching those spunky kids dance and sing their hearts out. I'm totally curious - did you watch High School Musical 2?

i tried to like it but i guess the songs weren't as memorable as the ones from the first movie. it's not awful but not really as much fun as the first one. my five year old HSM-freak niece hasn't seen it yet and i'm afraid she'll be disappointed.

I watched it with my tween daughters and their friends. It was cute, and the character development (such as it was) was nice, but overall, the first one was MUCH better. I personally enjoyed the Hannah Montana/Jonas Brothers special more. Sue me - I love Hannah Montana!

I made the mistake of watching the first one (wanted to know what the hype was about) and I didn't want to repeat that experience. You know what they say...you learn from your mistakes. :)

Yes, I did! I hated the first one the first time I watched, but those songs are so damn catchy. I was looking forward to this one, and even though it wasn't as good, I still enjoyed it. I really like musicals.

I didn't even know it was airing this weekend. I think the sequel was uncalled for. Let's continue giving kids ORIGINAL and CREATIVE projects instead of something recycled and repackaged. But as always with Disney, when something works, they really play it out to the death. I think they're making an HSM 3.

Yes of course. I adored it! So much more than the first actually, and I love the songs a lot more. I loved that we got to see more of Sharpay and less Gabriella.
